Verifying a fix
Ask Verisight to re-check a resolved finding and get independent confirmation that it's fixed.
Marking a finding Resolved is your claim. Verification is Verisight checking it.
How to request it
- Fix the issue and set the finding to Resolved.
- Choose Verify on the finding.
- Verisight runs a small, targeted re-check of only that rule against that asset. It is not a full new assessment.
Outcomes
| Verification status | What happened |
|---|---|
| Pending | The re-check is running. |
| Verified | The problem is no longer observed. The finding stays resolved, now with proof. |
| Failed | The re-check couldn't reach a conclusive answer (for example, the host was unreachable). The finding stays resolved but unverified. Try again later. |
| (reopened) | The re-check still sees the problem. The finding is reopened and its resolution is cleared. |
An inconclusive re-check never reopens a finding. Only positive evidence that the problem is still there does.
Each verification attempt is recorded in the finding's verification history, separately from its ordinary status history. Your team is emailed when verification is requested and when it concludes.
Domain findings can only be verified while you have a valid authorisation and the domain is still verified. Connector findings need the connector to still be authorised.
