Assessment statuses, retries and cancelling
What each status means, how to retry a failed run and how to cancel or delete an assessment.
Statuses
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Created | Ordered and paid. Waiting for authorisation, a connector or a start. |
| Authorized | The scope is authorised; about to be queued. |
| Queued | Waiting for a worker. |
| Running / Collecting | Gathering evidence. |
| Evaluating | Turning evidence into findings. |
| Reporting | Building the report and summaries. |
| Completed | Finished. Findings, evidence and reports are available. |
| Failed | Something stopped the run. You can retry it. |
| Cancelled | Stopped by you before completion. |
| Expired | The authorisation window closed before the run could happen. |
Waiting for a connector
Microsoft 365 and AWS assessments can be bought before or after you connect the account. If you buy first, the assessment waits in Created, and starts automatically the moment the connector is authorised. You don't need to come back and click anything.
Retrying a failed assessment
Open the assessment and choose Retry assessment. The retry:
- reuses the same assessment and payment, at no extra cost;
- keeps all authorisation checks. For domain assessments the authorisation must still be valid and the domains still verified, and connector assessments need the connector still authorised.
If the authorisation has expired, re-authorise first, then retry.
Cancelling and deleting
- An assessment that hasn't started (Created or Authorized) can be deleted straight away. If it used an included run, the run is given back.
- An assessment that is in progress must be cancelled before it can be deleted.
- Deleting a finished assessment archives it. It disappears from your lists, but its evidence, authorisation and consent are kept as proof of what was delivered.
